Outdoor therapy

Let nature take your hand as you experience outdoor therapy

Outdoor Therapy

Have you ever thought about having outdoor therapy?

When opportunities have arose to work with clients outdoors, they have benefited from the experience. Clients realised that it had an impact on their wellbeing.

Nature can teach us a lot about ourselves including developing new perspectives, mindfulness and self-soothing capabilities.

It is proven that spending time in nature can improve psychological wellbeing. Outdoor therapy can be about many things, including self-discovery, healing and recovery.

Healing is not linear. Many people who have experienced trauma have, I believe, benefited from working outdoors. Sometimes there are no words for some lived experiences of trauma, but being in nature can help soothe and heal wounds in a more organic person centered way.

The charity Mind completed a study on ecotherapy it found:

  • 7 in 10 people had a significant improvement in their mental wellbeing

  • self esteem was boosted by an average of 11% for 6 of out 10 people

  • almost 8 out of 10 saw their mood improve by 6%.
